Special Educational Need and Disability Activities
At Horizon, we are proud to partner with the Get Up and Go, a Havant borough initiative funded by Hampshire County Council. This project aims to inspire everyone to move more, especially those who may not be as active due to health conditions or financial challenges. Through this collaboration, we prioritise access to activities for residents of the borough who need it most, ensuring that they can fully participate in and benefit from the program.
We recognise the profound physical, mental, and social benefits of staying active. That’s why we strive to offer various enjoyable activities that promote wellbeing and encourage us to explore and appreciate our beautiful local surroundings. We aim to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible for everyone to stay active and reap these rewards.
Inclusive Activities & Facilities
At Horizon, we are dedicated to offering a diverse array of thoughtfully designed additional needs activities that are inclusive and accessible to everyone. We take great pride in fostering a welcoming environment where everyone can participate and enjoy our facilities without barriers.

Our 1-1 SEN swimming lessons provide a supportive and structured environment tailored to each swimmer’s unique needs.
- Schedule: Weekly sessions
- Duration: 20 minutes of pool time

Parental and Guardian Support
A parent or guardian will remain poolside throughout the lesson. This helps guide our instructor to understand the swimmer’s specific needs and triggers, ensuring a positive and practical learning experience.

Swimming Changing Place
We take pride in offering a private changing place at Horizon Havant, specially designed for individuals with disabilities and additional needs. This facility includes electric hoists, beds, and a dedicated toilet, shower, and hand basin. The pool area also features a pool hoist (currently out of order), allowing easy and safe access to the water.
While Horizon Waterlooville does not have a dedicated changing place, we provide a family changing room and a pool hoist to ensure comfortable access to the pool for all visitors.
Accessible Facilities
We want every visitor to feel comfortable, confident, and fully supported when they arrive at our centres. If you or someone in your family has specific access needs, you will find our spaces designed to make your visit simple from the moment you arrive.
Horizon Waterlooville offers a straightforward, easy to navigate layout with the pool and café on a single level for smooth movement throughout your visit. Ramps provide step free entry into the building, and you will find plenty of disabled parking close to the entrance. Our gym covers three floors and includes a lift so you can reach every area with ease.
Horizon Havant is arranged across three levels, all connected by a spacious lift that makes moving between facilities effortless. The play centre, sports hall, and gym are located on the lower level, while the swimming pool and pop up café sit above, allowing you to enjoy the whole centre without barriers.
You can inform us in advance about your visit, and we will make arrangements such as setting up pool hoists to ensure a stress-free experience. Alternatively, if you decide to visit spontaneously, you can give us a call, and we’ll be more than happy to assist you on short notice. If you have specific questions or want to explore our full accessibility support, you can find more information below.
