Become qualified to work in any UK swimming pool as a Lifeguard during this one week intensive course taking place at Havant and Waterlooville (just outside of Portsmouth).
This is an ideal way to gain an essential qualification at a low cost for working in the leisure industry as well as learning practical skills that could save someone’s life.
Become a Qualified Lifeguard
Lifeguards benefit from varied working hours, which can easily fit around other commitments, the experience of working within a team, and the opportunity to progress within the Leisure industry.
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course is only £275 per candidate, including tuition, First Aid and AED training, handbook and exam fee.

Call to book or complete a booking form at the main reception desk.
Candidates must be able to:
- Jump / dive into deep water
- Swim 50 metres (2 lengths) in 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out unaided without ladder / steps
- Please note: candidates must be 16 years old on the last day of the course (for the assessment).
