ukactive Awards 2025: Horizon Nomination
The Horizon team was proud to attend the ukactive Awards 2025, one of the biggest celebrations of excellence and innovation in the leisure and fitness sector. The event brought together organisations and individuals from across the country who are passionate about improving community health and wellbeing through physical activity.

What These ukactive Nominations Mean to Us
Being recognised at the ukactive Awards means a great deal to everyone at Horizon. It is not just about being shortlisted, but about knowing that the work we do every day is making a difference to the people around us.
Our nomination for the Marketing Campaign Award was for Faces of Horizon, a campaign that came straight from the heart. We wanted to move away from polished stock imagery and instead celebrate the real people who make up our community. Every photo, every story, and every smile in that campaign belonged to one of our members. It was about showing that health and fitness are not about perfection, but about belonging, connection, and confidence.
Our nomination for the Outstanding Leadership Team Award recognised our Commercial Team, who have shown incredible dedication and creativity throughout the past year. Their work goes far beyond numbers and strategy. It is about creating opportunities for our charity to grow, supporting the wider team, and finding new ways to make our services even better for our members. Seeing their hard work recognised on a national level is something we are truly proud of.
For us, these nominations are more than awards. They are a reminder of why we do what we do and a celebration of the people and communities that make Horizon what it is.
Looking Ahead
We left the evening inspired and motivated to continue building on our work, championing health, inclusion and wellbeing for all. To even be considered for a nomination was incredible, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team and all their progress despite not winning.
