Whether it is managing your weight, becoming more active, or building better habits, it can feel easier to put it off without the right support in place.

The Men’s Weight Management Programme at Horizon offers a simple, supportive way to take that first step and build lasting change.

Taking the first step towards better health can feel like a big one. You do not have to do it on your own.

The Men’s Weight Management Programme is a free 12 week course designed to help you improve your health in a realistic and supportive way. It focuses on building confidence, creating healthier habits, and helping you feel more in control of your wellbeing.

Sessions take place at Havant Leisure Centre, starting on 4th June, from 6.15pm to 8.15pm.

What the programme involves

Each weekly session is split into two parts.

The first part focuses on education, including simple guidance around nutrition, lifestyle, and physical activity.

The second part is a group exercise session designed to help you get moving in a safe and supportive environment.

The programme is not about quick fixes. It is about building habits that last and making steady, achievable progress over time.

Who the programme is for

This programme is designed for men who are ready to make a positive change to their health.

To take part, you will need to:
• Meet certain health criteria: aged 18+ with a BMI of 30+
• Be able to attend two sessions each week at Havant or Waterlooville
• Commit to a 26 week follow up after the initial programme

If you are unsure whether the programme is right for you, the team can talk you through the details and answer any questions.

Support throughout

You will be supported by experienced staff throughout the programme, alongside others who are on a similar journey.

Many people find the group environment helpful, as it provides encouragement, structure, and a sense of accountability.

The focus is on creating a welcoming space where you can feel comfortable getting started, whatever your current fitness level.
