What’s on at Horizon this February

February is all about exploring our reasons why– why we stay active, why we challenge ourselves, and why we keep coming back to the activities that make us feel our best. Whether it’s joining a fitness class, swimming, lifting weights, or simply enjoying a social workout, this month is all about celebrating the motivation behind our fitness journeys.

It’s also the perfect time to try something new! From lifeguard training to outdoor circuits, there are plenty of opportunities to discover a workout that suits your lifestyle. Here’s what’s on at Horizon Leisure Centres this February.

NPLQ Course

Five day course: Sunday 16th February – Friday 21st February

National Pool Lifeguard Course at Horizon Leisure Centres

Looking to become a qualified lifeguard? Our National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course is running this February half term at Havant. This five day course equips you with lifesaving skills and qualifies you to work as a lifeguard at any pool in the UK, opening up job opportunities at Horizon and beyond. We offer it at an affordable price, which includes all of the tuition, handbooks and the final exam.

Havant: Tuesday 18th February 17:00 to 18:00

Waterlooville: Thursday 20th February 17:00 to 18:00

Got feedback, ideas, or suggestions about the centre you attend? Come along and chat with our General Managers and Laura from Customer Relations in an informal setting. Drop in at the café anytime during the hour to share your thoughts. Your input helps us enhance your experience at Horizon!

Learn to Lift Programme

Four week course: starting Wednesday 19th February 17:30 to 18:00

Always wanted to lift weights but not sure where to start? Our Learn to Lift programme at Horizon Havant is perfect for beginners looking to gain confidence in the gym. Join one of our expert Gym Instructor’s, Sam, for a four week course covering safe and effective lifting techniques.

Want to know more about signing up for a Horizon membership, or have any questions about your current membership? Our Membership Q&A sessions are the perfect opportunity to get the information you need. Taking place in the café at Havant and Waterlooville, these informal drop in sessions give you the chance to speak with Laura from Customer Relations, a member of our sales team, and at our Havant session, our Children’s Activities Manager will also be available to answer any questions about Horizon’s kids programmes.

There’s no need to book, simply drop in at any time during the hour to chat with our friendly team and get all the details on memberships, benefits, and more.

Parent & Baby GP Visit

Friday 28th February 10:30 to 11:30

Parent & Baby Group at Horizon Waterlooville

Every Friday at Horizon Waterlooville, we run a free parent & baby drop in session from 10:30am. These sessions, once a month, feature visits a local GP who provides baby weigh-ins and offers support and advice. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your baby to socialise and for you to meet and connect with other parents in the community. Come along and be part of this supportive and friendly group! 

Half Term Activities

Monday 17th February to Friday 21st February

Looking for ways to keep the kids active this half term? We have a variety of fun filled activities for children and families, including our THRIVE clubs and classes, with a range of activities available. Pop Up Events is also returning for a Nerf war at Horizon Havant this February half term, which is not one to miss out on and can be booked via their website. We will also be running our usual Junior Gym sessions for those aged 10 to 15, so you can workout as a family in a safe environment.

SEND Sessions

Thursdays 16:00 to 17:30

active play referral scheme at Horizon Leisure

We have introduced a new session to Horizon Soft Play specifically for SEND children and their parents/carers. These dedicated sessions have lower lighting, no music and reduced numbers for a calmer environment. It is only £4 per child and their parent/carers get free access. The sessions can be booked via our app under the ‘Horizon Soft Play’ tile, or at Reception.

Outdoor Circuits

Saturdays 11:00 to 12:00

If you’re someone that prefers exercising in the fresh air, come along to the Get Up and Go Havant outdoor circuit class at Jubilee Park, led by one of our Gym Instructor’s, Jan. Expect a fun, friendly, and challenging workout in the fresh air- the best way to kickstart your weekend! This can be booked on the Get Up and Go website.
