This year, Horizon invite you to embark on a journey of self discovery to uncover what inspires you to stay active and Find Your Why. Whether it’s pursuing personal growth, achieving a fitness goal, or nurturing your overall wellbeing, we’re here to support and guide you every step of the way.

Why not try something new and discover what keeps you motivated to live a healthier, happier life? From fresh activities to inspiring opportunities, here’s some things that may help you to kickstart your journey and make 2025 your most active year yet.

Attending Group Exercise Classes

Participating in group exercise classes offers numerous advantages, especially when it comes to staying motivated. These classes create a sense of community, providing the camaraderie and support needed to stay consistent with your fitness routine. You’re far less likely to skip a workout when you’ve committed to showing up. The structured format of these classes eliminates the guesswork, with instructors guiding you through routines that keep things fresh and exciting and push you.

If you prefer being outdoors but still enjoy the sense of community that comes with group workouts, some facilities offer outdoor classes. These might take place in open fields or incorporate outdoor gym equipment in parks, combining fresh air with the feeling of group exercise. Such as, the outdoor circuits class set up by Havant Borough Council’s Get Up & Go project, in collaboration with Horizon.

Trying Something New

Switching up your gym routine can be a powerful way to stay motivated and maintain your enthusiasm for staying active. Doing the same exercises repeatedly can lead to boredom and even plateaus in your progress. By introducing new activities, exploring new equipment, or adjusting the intensity of your workouts, you challenge your body in fresh ways and keep your mind engaged. Variety not only prevents monotony but also helps target different muscle groups, improving overall fitness. Embracing change in your routine can reignite your excitement for exercise and help you discover new goals to work toward.

Explore Horizon Havant’s new Life Fitness gym equipment and discover a fresh addition to your strength training routine. This innovative strength kit is designed to make your workouts more effective and enjoyable, helping you stay motivated and inspired on your journey to Find Your Why.

Every month, Horizon has a new gym challenge for all customers to get involved with. Trying these challenges can add a fun competitive edge to your gym routine, motivate you to try out new equipment, and give you the chance to win a free month of membership if you top the leaderboard!

Setting Achievable Goals

The new year often brings a ‘new me’ mindset, which can create pressure to make drastic lifestyle changes that may feel overwhelming or unattainable. This can lead to frustration and loss of motivation when those big goals aren’t achieved. Instead, focus on setting smaller, realistic, and measurable goals that fit your lifestyle. For example, aim for a manageable number of daily steps based on your routine and free time, or try a new group exercise class this January.

Finding Your Why is all about creating goals that align with your unique circumstances and priorities, whatever staying active and motivated means to you personally.

Staying Active as a Family

Exercising as a family not only keeps everyone accountable but also fosters meaningful bonding moments while exploring new activities together. When parents prioritise physical activity, they set a positive example for their children, encouraging them to adopt healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Making fitness a family tradition helps children develop a lasting appreciation for staying active, supporting their wellbeing well into adulthood.

Horizon’s THRIVE clubs and classes offer a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as the Family Racquet Sport Club, which promotes fitness, strategic thinking, and communication. Additionally, some gyms provide Junior Gym time slots, allowing children to safely join their parents for workouts and use age appropriate equipment in a supervised setting. Swimming is also an excellent family activity that combines fun with fitness. It helps children develop an essential life skill while providing parents and guardians with a low impact workout option.
