October Half Term 2025 Highlights | Family Fun, Swimming, and Spooky Activities

What a week it was! October Half Term at Horizon was packed with energy, laughter, and plenty of spooky fun. From mermaid makeovers and Halloween crafts to swim lessons and sweet treats, our centres were full of families enjoying time together and making memories during the october half term. Here’s a look back at some of our favourite moments from the week, especially the exciting activities we organised for the october half term.

Making a Splash

The pool was buzzing all week with our Intensive Swim Courses at Waterlooville helping swimmers of all levels build their skills and confidence. It was brilliant to see so many children taking part, learning new techniques, and having fun along the way.

Our Family Float sessions were just as popular, with families enjoying splashing around and spending quality time together in the water. Swimming is one of the best ways to stay active as a family, and it was lovely to see so many happy faces enjoying our pools.

The October Half Term also featured something a little extra special: our Mermaid Experience. Children had the chance to dive into a magical morning of swimming, learning new moves, and letting their imagination run wild. It’s safe to say this one made a few dreams come true!

Halloween Fun Everywhere You Look

Our centres looked the part for Halloween, with decorations, costumes, and a few friendly frights dotted around every corner. Staff and members got into the spirit with fancy dress, indoor trick-or-treating, and lots of laughter.

Our Halloween Soft Play sessions were a big hit again this year, giving little monsters, witches, and superheroes the chance to play, climb, and take part in themed games and challenges. The atmosphere was buzzing from start to finish.

Over in the Crèche, children enjoyed getting creative with themed crafts and Halloween art projects. It was wonderful to see their spooky masterpieces taking shape while parents had a chance to relax, swim, or catch a workout.

A Treat for Everyone

The Halloween magic continued in our cafés, where our talented team served up a delicious range of themed bakes and goodies. From Skull Vanilla Cupcakes and Eyeball Chocolate Cupcakes to Spiderweb Brownies and Day of the Dead Ginger Cookies, there was something for every sweet tooth.

A Week to Remember

Half Term is always one of our favourite times of the year. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined in the fun, from the families taking part in our sessions to the amazing staff who helped bring it all to life.

If you missed out this time, keep an eye on our website and social channels for upcoming family events, swim sessions, and holiday activities. We’ve got plenty more fun planned for the months ahead. Next stop…Christmas.
