Student Membership Freshers Fair 2025

The start of a new academic year is always full of excitement and opportunity. At Havant and South Downs College, the annual Freshers Fair is the perfect moment for students to explore what is on offer outside the classroom, from clubs and societies to local organisations that support their lifestyle and wellbeing.

This year, Horizon was proud to be part of the event, sharing how our student membership can help young people find balance during their studies. Join us with a student membership today to unlock new opportunities.

Attending the Freshers Fair

For us, being at the Freshers Fair is about more than handing out leaflets. It is a chance to connect with students face-to-face, to show that Horizon is not just a leisure centre but part of the local community. College life can feel overwhelming at times, especially for those starting out, and we want to make sure students know they have a welcoming space to look after their health, both physically and mentally.

Why a Student Membership Matters

Student life is busy, and finding time for wellbeing is not always easy. Between deadlines, jobs, and social commitments, self-care often falls to the bottom of the list. That is why Horizon offers a dedicated student membership. It is affordable, flexible, and gives full access to our gyms, swimming pools, and a wide variety of group exercise classes. For students, this means more than just staying active. It means having a safe, positive space to de-stress, build confidence, and recharge.

A Free Month to Get you Started

At the event, our friendly sales team and trainers were on hand to chat with students, share advice, and talk through everything Horizon has to offer. It was a great opportunity to answer questions directly and hear what young people want from a fitness membership. Many told us they were looking for ways to manage stress, meet new people, and feel healthier alongside their studies.

To make joining even easier, every student who signed up at the Freshers Fair received a free month with us. This meant they could dive straight into trying the gym, taking part in classes, or going for a swim without any pressure. We also put together special Horizon tote bags filled with goodies like stickers and water bottles, so students had something fun to take away as a reminder to put their wellbeing first.

Supporting Students Beyond College

Our involvement in the Freshers Fair is part of a bigger commitment to the community. At Horizon, we believe that fitness should be accessible to everyone, including students who are learning to juggle new responsibilities. By offering student memberships that fit into their lifestyle, and by showing up at events like this, we hope to make it clear that Horizon is here to support them throughout their journey, not just for fitness, but for overall well-being.
