Horizon Waterlooville Refurbishment Update: A joint statement from Horizon Leisure and Havant Borough Council

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the public consultation last year to help shape the refurbishment plans for Waterlooville Leisure Centre. Your feedback has been invaluable in guiding the future improvements to the facility and ensuring it meets the needs of the community.

Since the consultation concluded, Havant Borough Council and Horizon Leisure Trust have been working hard behind the scenes. A dedicated project manager has been appointed, and their focus has been on procuring specialist contractors to complete the design of both the internal and external refurbishment works.

This process has taken some time as we are committed to ensuring the best value for money is achieved from the grant funding provided by Havant Borough Council and Winchester City Council. Equally important is appointing contractors who can meet the specific requirements and high standards expected for the refurbishment of the leisure centre.

We fully appreciate that there has been a delay in getting works underway and understand the community’s eagerness to see progress. However, it is essential that we take the necessary time to get this right from the outset.

We will provide further updates once contractors have been appointed and look forward to sharing more details on the next steps soon.
