What’s on in August at Horizon

Welcome to August! As summer reaches its peak, we’re buzzing with exciting activities and events designed to keep you active and entertained. Discover everything that is taking place at Horizon this month.

Summer THRIVE-ing- 24th July to 30th August:

During the summer holiday, THRIVE clubs, swimming activities and pre-school sessions are only £2. This is to ensure that children can continue to stay active when they’re not at school. Our timetables provide detailed schedules for all sessions happening in Havant and Waterlooville.

Parent & Baby GP Visit- 2nd August:

Our parent and baby group gathers every week, with a local GP joining us once a month to weigh your baby and offer support and advice. The sessions are free, laid back, and come with baby mats and toys for your little ones. It’s a great opportunity to connect with other parents and chat in a relaxed setting. Come join us at Waterlooville Cafe at 10:30am.

Havant Laughter Club- 3rd August:

Havant Laughter Club is bringing a night of top tier comedy to Horizon Havant on Saturday 3rd August! With a lineup of big names, it’s an event you definitely don’t want to miss.

Oceans of Play Summer Party- 9th August:

Get ready for an epic Summer Party at Oceans of Play! From 2:30pm they’re fun activities, games, and a DJ. Tickets for this event can be booked via the app, online or in Oceans of Play directly.

Membership Hubs- 20th & 22nd August:

Visit Horizon Havant on 20th August or Horizon Waterlooville on 22nd August to get your questions answered about our memberships. Whether your looking to join, or have any questions about your current membership, our team will be available in the cafe from 12:30pm to assist.

Tea Dance- 21st August:

Our monthly Tea Dance is back at Waterlooville. During this event, you will ballroom and sequence dance, and in between, sit back and enjoy tea and biscuits. Whether you love the Fox Trot or the Cha Cha Cha, you can choose which routines you dance, in this relaxed and friendly environment. There is also a beginner’s workshop beforehand so that you can practice your moves before the real thing. Tea Dance costs only £3.50 or £5.50, including the workshop. If you can’t make the August one, keep your eyes peeled for the next one in October.

Gym Challenge- 1st August to 31st August:

We invite you to participate in August’s gym challenge, the 30 calorie challenge. This requires you to ride an assault bike and see how fast you can burn 30 calories. The fastest time will be in with a chance of winning a month’s free membership. Head over to any of our gyms, grab one of our Gym Instructors to time your attempt, and then write your time on our leaderboard.

Horizon Olympic & Paralympic Challenge

We have an exciting Olympic themed challenge taking place for the duration of the games in Paris. Grab a stamp card from reception and complete all 5 Olympic rings to be entered into a prize draw to win up to 3 free months. Receive a stamp for:

  • 100m sprint on a treadmill
  • a 50m swim
  • take part in August’s gym challenge (the Velodrome Bike Challenge)
