Seriously Social- Putting People Above Profit

From the 27th May to the 1st June, we’re taking part in the Seriously Social campaign. This is a national campaign, run by Community Leisure UK, that showcases the work that Charitable Trusts (like Horizon) do to create social impact and inspire healthier, happier communities.

Each day of the campaign is dedicated to a different theme, to better explain what companies like ours do to positively impact our community.

Day 1: Putting People Above Profit

Inspiring healthier, happier communities is at the heart of everything we do at Horizon

Day 2: Health & Wellbeing

Our wellbeing programmes like FLOURISH and schemes like our Health Referral, saves the NHS £152 million a year.

Day 3: The Community

We are led by a Board of Trustees who are all local. Therefore, empowering those in our community is at the forefront of our thinking.

Day 4: Inclusion

Our Community Discount Card and Active Play scheme means that no one in our community is left out and everyone is able to use our facilities.

Day 5: Employment & Skills

We have a dedicated and dynamic team that are empowered to be innovative.

Day 6: The Environment

We are fully aware of the climate emergency and have plans in place to support a greener future.

As a Community Leisure UK member, Horizon has contributed to the community with:

  • 315,000 attendances to children’s activities
  • 3,500 people learning to swim
  • 467 GP exercise referrals
  • A social value of 6.1 million!
