Looking to up your fitness game? HYROX is now part of all our membership, and includes full access to our eight weekly HYROX classes at Horizon Havant. Whether you’re training for competition or simply want a top-tier workout, here’s exactly what to expect — and how to play by the rules.

Horizon Membership Perks

Everything’s included — HYROX classes are part of your Lifestyle package, so no extra charge.
Coaching support — Classes led by certified HYROX coaches, perfect for every fitness level, with eight classes weekly, each 60 minutes long and capped at 20 participants.

The HYROX Format

Every HYROX race, you’ll complete eight 1 km runs, each followed by one functional workout station.

HYROX Station Rules & Weight

Running – 1 km × 8
Each run is 1 km, totalling 8 km of running interspersed with stations
Stay in your lane: fast lane for runners, regular lane otherwise.

1. SkiErg – 1 000 m
Use a Concept2 SkiErg. Distance must be exactly 1 000 m.
Reset the monitor before you start.
Feet must stay on the platform; lifting is allowed but no foot entirely off.

2. Sled Push – 50 m total (4 × 12.5 m laps)
Push down and back, completing four lengths (total 50 m) .
You and the sled must begin fully behind the start line.
Weights (including sled):
Women Open/Relay/Doubles: 102 kg
Women Pro: 152 kg
Men Open/Relay/Doubles: 152 kg
Men Pro: 202 kg
Miss a 12.5 m lap? That’s a 3‑minute penalty per lap.

3. Sled Pull – 50 m total (4 × 12.5 m laps)
Pull the sled across the course, turning at each 12.5 m, and walk back to start.
Weights:
Women Open/Relay/Doubles: 78 kg
Women Pro: 103 kg
Men Open/Relay/Doubles: 103 kg
Men Pro: 153 kg
Keep behind the start line; improper form may attract penalties.

4. Burpee Broad Jumps – 80 m
Perform a burpee + jump forward, repeat until you cover 80 m
Continuous rhythm is key; full-depth burpees required.

5. Row – 1 000 m
Using a Concept2 rower, complete 1 000 m.
Damper can be set freely (first wave: women Open/5, women Pro & men Open/6, men Pro/7)

6. Farmer’s Carry – 200 m
Carry two kettlebells for 200 m, often in a zigzag. Weights per hand:
Women Open/Relay/Doubles: 16 kg
Women Pro: 24 kg
Men Open/Relay/Doubles: 24 kg
Men Pro: 32 kg
No throwing kettlebells; place them carefully.

7. Sandbag Lunges – 100 m
Walking lunges while carrying a sandbag for 100 m hyroxnewbie.com.
Weights:
Women Open/Relay/Doubles: 10 kg
Women Pro: 20 kg
Men Open/Relay/Doubles: 20 kg
Men Pro: 30 kg .

8. Wall Balls – 100 reps
Throw a medicine ball against a target – 100 reps total .
Ball weights:
Women Open/Relay/Doubles: 4 kg
Women Pro: 6 kg
Men Open/Relay/Doubles: 6 kg
– Men Pro: 9 kg .

  • All stations must be completed in order, with correct equipment, distances, reps, and weights
  • Missing reps, using wrong weight, or poor form leads to time penalties or disqualification.
  • At sled stations, line placement is crucial, and missing lanes equals penalties

Booking & Etiquette

To make the most of your membership:
Pre‑book via the Horizon app or website, up to 7 days in advance.
Don’t skip or cancel last-minute — you’ll receive strikes after two missed classes without 2‑hour notice; three strikes in six weeks result in pre‑booking suspension.
Arrive on time with your membership card, ready to scan upon arrival.
