Family Fun – In Aid Of World Mental Health Day – 10th October 2021

Sunday 10th October marks World Mental Health Day. A day for raising awareness of the importance of mental health and for encouraging others to open up about their own experiences, to talk and to listen.

Here at Horizon, we know the huge role physical activity has on people’s mental wellbeing. That’s why, to mark World Mental Health Day, we’re launching a fantastic range of activities for the community. Whether you have been to Horizon Leisure Centres before or not – we are inviting you to come along and join in the fun with your family and friends.

To ‘kick’ things off…

  • Former professional footballer, Paul Reid will be offering FREE children’s football workshops at Havant Leisure Centre on Sunday 10th October. Timings:

    9.15am – 10am – 6 to 8 year olds

    10.15am – 11am 9 to 11 year olds

    11.15 am – 12pm 12 to 14 year olds

    There will be 20 spaces on each time slot at. Boys and girls welcome. Parents will be asked to stay and watch. These sessions are bookable via the mobile app or Horizon website.

Other activities included on our events programme at Havant Leisure Centre will include:

  • A free Oceans of Play soft play session – 10.00am – 11.30am

  • Bounce Class 0-8 years old 10am – 11.00am (trampolining and bouncy castle fun)

  • Bounce Class 0-8 years old 11am – 12pm (trampolining and bouncy castle fun)

  • A free Restorative/Meditation Yoga class 12pm – 1pm in Studio 1. Please bring a mat and water and wear comfortable clothing.

  • Free Family Float session in the splash pool 2.00pm – 3.30pm

  • A free Breath and Meditation Yoga class 3pm – 4pm in Studio 1. Please bring a mat and water and wear comfortable clothing.

These sessions are LIVE and can be booked via the mobile app or Horizon website.

Table Tennis / Short Tennis / Badminton is available from 12.30 – 7.30pm. Equipment is available to hire for a deposit of £2.70 which is refundable on return of the equipment.

A reminder of classes on at Havant that are great for mindfulness –

  • Yoga 4.30pm – 5.30pm (existing class on offer, chargeable as normal)

  • Body Balance 10.45am – 11.30am (existing class on offer, chargeable as normal)

Your song will feature on the playlist in our gyms on World Mental Health Day and will be available to download on Spotify for our customers and staff to enjoy.
