Today Horizon Leisure Centres are participating in Purple Tuesday 2019, the second annual awareness day from disability charity Purple. Purple Tuesday promotes the £2.25 trillion global spending power of disabled people and their families and calls on all organisations to make changes to improve the customer experience for disabled people.
What is Purple Tuesday?
Purple Tuesday has been developed by disability organisation Purple; which works with businesses to improve the customer experience for disabled people. Purple Tuesday 2019 is an international call to action focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people. It calls on organisations from all sectors and sizes, to take decisive practical actions to meet the needs of disabled customers and making the customer experience accessible.
What are Horizon Leisure Centres doing?
We have made a pledge to improve the customer experience for our disabled members through the gathering of honest feedback on our customer service with future customer service training tailored to meet the identified needs. Another of our commitments to this cause is an accessibility audit of our Havant and Waterlooville sites with recommendations made on how to improve these moving forward. We will also be raising awareness of the importance of the customer experience for those with disabilities by engaging with our members at both sites and answering any questions or queries they have.
