GREAT NEWS! We will be REOPENING on WEDNESDAY 2 DECEMBER!
We hope you have been keeping safe and well.
Further to the Prime Minister’s announcement on the Tuesday 23 November that the 2nd nationwide lockdown in England will be ending next week, we are delighted to announce that Horizon Leisure Centres will be reopening on Wednesday 2 December.
Pre-booking of gym, swim and exercise classes and crèche sessions will be available via the Horizon App and website from Wednesday 25 November.
Key details can be found below with further information available on our updated FAQ page accessible via the link here
Membership Direct Debit Payments
The Government announcement to close leisure centres on Thursday 5 November came too late to prevent the Platinum and Swim School direct debit payments from being collected on Sunday 1 November so to compensate, we will not be taking the direct debit payments for December to ensure that nobody is disadvantaged financially. We will be recommencing the direct debits from January 2021.
Gym, Swim and Exercise Classe
Timetables for gym, swim and *exercise classes are available on the website and pre-booking of these sessions will be available via the Horizon app and website from Wednesday 25 November. (* classes may be limited if our area is placed in Tier 3 of local restrictions)

Havant – Saturdays – 1.45pm
Waterlooville – Sundays – 4.15pm

There has been growing public desire for gyms and leisure centres to be reclassified as “essential services” meaning they would stay open in the event of any future lockdown. This is in recognition of the “essential” role that keeping fit and healthy has on building resilience to illnesses and that gyms and leisure centres in following strict protocols are as safe and secure as they can be during this time.
One recent parliamentary petition (for which we are grateful some of you participated in) to reclassify gyms and sports as ‘essential services’ gained some 614,000 votes and led to the parliamentary debate held yesterday Tuesday 23 November. To the relief of so many people, the Government confirmed yesterday that gyms and leisure centres will be allowed to reopen under all 3 Tiers of the new Covid-19 winter restrictions from Wednesday 2 December.
There is less certainty regards group exercise in Tier 3 of local restrictions and our sector will continue to lobby the Government so we remain hopeful that common sense will prevail.
In the meantime, we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back from Wednesday 2 December where we have the facilities, the staff and the protocols in place to keep you safe and make everyone’s lives better!
