Personal & Career Development

We are passionate about our people and their personal and professional development. We embrace a culture of continues learning and sharing of knowledge. We promote from within where possible ensuring our people have lots of opportunities to try new things and develop new skills.

In addition to the above we also offer the opportunity to become a qualified Lifeguard through our onsite NPLQ Training programme. The NPLQ is the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and is a great step into working in the leisure industry. The course comprises of practical and theory work and gives you the skills that could save someone’s life. The one week intensive course is run at various times throughout the year for more information please email humanresources@horizonlc.com.


We are committed to supporting younger people early on in their

careers. We offer apprenticeships across our business in a wide range of areas ranging from lifeguards and Gym Instructors through to HR, IT and Marketing all of which offer a great start to an exciting new career!

Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification and develop professional skills, while earning a salary. If you are leaving school at 16, have been to college and are looking for an alternative to university or just looking for a new career, we can offer high quality professional training and an opportunity to gain experience with a great team in a great working environment. The training maybe on the job, online or via higher education establishments.
