October Half-Term Swimming Intensives
Written by Abigael Wilson
Extra time in the water. Focused coaching. Three days to build skills and confidence.
Give your child some extra time in the pool this October half-term with our Swimming Intensive Sessions at Horizon Waterlooville.
Running from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 October 2026, the sessions provide additional pool time and focused coaching over three consecutive days, helping children practise their skills, build confidence and keep progressing during the school holidays.
Children don’t need to already be enrolled in Horizon Swim School to take part.
What is a Swimming Intensive?
Swimming intensives give children additional lessons over a shorter period of time, with sessions running across three consecutive days.
That extra consistency gives swimmers more opportunity to practise what they’re learning while it’s still fresh, work on their technique with their teacher and build confidence in the water.
Whether your child is learning the basics or developing their existing swimming skills, the sessions provide some focused extra practice during half-term.

Who are the sessions for?
Our October intensives have sessions available across Stages 1–6, from children building their early water confidence and swimming skills through to more experienced swimmers continuing to develop their technique.
Your child doesn’t need to currently attend Horizon Swim School to take part.
If your child already attends Horizon Swim School, simply book the intensive that matches their current stage.
Not currently in Swim School or unsure which stage to book? Contact our Swim School team at swim.school@horizonlc.com and they’ll help guide you to the most suitable stage for your child.
Why choose an intensive?
With lessons taking place on consecutive days, children have more opportunity to practise what they’ve learned while it’s still fresh.
Intensives can be particularly useful for children who would benefit from:
✓ Extra practice with their current swimming skills
✓ More focused time in the water
✓ Building confidence
✓ Developing their technique
✓ Staying active during the school holidays
