Booked It? Use It. Can’t Make It? Cancel It. Why We Use Strikes

At Horizon, we want as many people as possible to enjoy our activities, stay active, and make the most of our facilities.

That’s why we operate a strike system for group exercise classes across our centres and court bookings at Horizon Havant.

Why Do Strikes Exist?

Every time a class space or court is booked, that space is reserved for someone to exercise, play, and stay active.

When a booking isn’t used and no cancellation is made, that space often goes unused while other customers may have missed the opportunity to attend. This is particularly important for popular classes and court times where demand can be high.

The strike system helps us keep bookings fair for everyone and ensures our facilities are being used as intended.

What Happens If I Miss My Booking?

If you do not attend a booked class or court session and have not cancelled it, you will receive a strike on your account.

You will receive a notification through the Horizon app to let you know a strike has been applied.

We understand that life happens and plans can change. If you’re unable to attend, please cancel your booking as soon as possible so another customer can make use of the space.

How Long Does A Strike Last?

Each strike remains active on your account for 6 weeks before being automatically removed. For example, if you receive one strike it will expire after 6 weeks. If you receive a second strike, that strike will also remain active for 6 weeks from the date it was issued.

If your account reaches 3 active strikes, your booking privileges will be suspended for 7 days.

During this time, you will be unable to book classes or courts through your account. Once the 7-day suspension has ended, you will be able to book again as normal.

How Can I Avoid Strikes?

It’s simple:

✅ Attend your booking

✅ Cancel if you can no longer make it

✅ Let us know if there are exceptional circumstances

By cancelling unwanted bookings, you’re helping another member of our community access the activities they enjoy.

Keeping It Fair For Everyone

The strike system isn’t designed to catch people out. It’s there to help keep classes and courts available, reduce unused bookings, and ensure as many people as possible can access the activities they want to take part in.

A quick cancellation can make a big difference to someone else’s day.
