Horizon Shortlisted for National Fitness Awards

Havant Horizon gym, part of Horizon Leisure Centres, has been shortlisted for a prestigious fitness industry award, beating off strong competition to make the finals.

The club has been shortlisted in the Local Authority/Leisure Trust Gym of the Year category at the National Fitness Awards, an annual event which recognises excellence and achievement in gyms throughout the country.

The large new gym at Havant Leisure Centre opened in 2014 and won Gym of the Year in 2015. It has a 2 lane running track and over 160 work stations including boxing frames. There is a large free weights area. It is one of the largest gyms on the south coast.

Havant gym offers some of the best value for money exercise facilities available in the area. Staffed by fully qualified friendly gym instructors, who will offer you great advice and motivation to help you achieve your exercise goals.

The gym has a vast range of machines including treadmills, cross trainers, steppers, summit trainers, rowers, power mills, spinning bikes cardio-vascular areas with treadmills, stationary bicycles, rowers, cross trainers, exciting new Power Mills and everlasting staircases.

Havant gym have resistance equipment which covers every muscle group in the body and comprises a great selection of free-weight machines and weights alongside a functional training area.

The majority of the fitness machines (to exercise you heart and lungs and burn calories) are supplied by Life Fitness the UK’s premium supplier of exercise machines.

The awards are organised by leading fitness industry magazine Workout, with support from headline sponsor Service Sport, and in each category up to seven finalists have been selected, who will now go through to the next stage of the judging process where they will be out to impress by showcasing first-hand the great work going on in their clubs.

This stage involves a visit to each finalist by a member of the Workout team who will take a look around the facilities and chat to members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to decide the lucky winners.

Trophies will then be handed out a glittering awards ceremony on Friday December 2 at The Athena in Leicester, which will be hosted by boxing world champion Ricky Hatton and award winning personal trainer and star of The Apprentice Katie Bulmer-Cooke.
