Hambledon Road Tree Management Project – January 2019

January 3rd 2019

Please see below a letter to residents in regards to the Hambledon Road Tree Management Project. The work will commence on the 7th January 2019. Any comments should be directed to the Customer Services Department at Havant Borough Council.

Dear Resident,

I am writing to advise you of a tree management project taking place at Horizon Leisure Centre, Waterberry Drive.

In consultation with Havant Borough Council (landlord) and Horizon Leisure Centres (lessee), the shelter-belt area has been surveyed by an Arboriculturalist. Over many years, the area has become over populated and many trees are deemed to be over-mature and the high density is hindering the long-term development of a healthy and sustainable area.

In order to address the growing safety issues and to improve the long-term quality, density and diversity of the shelter-belt, some essential tree management work is required. Both parties are committed to retaining and improving the existing tree shelter-belt along the Hambledon Road/Waterlooville Leisure Centre as a valuable screen and wildlife habitat.

The work is scheduled t take place between the 7th and 25th January 2019.

The bulk of the work will be in the central part of the Hambledon Road screening belt and on the boundary between the Leisure Centre and the petrol station and pre school.

I would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused as a result of this work.

Should you have any questions or comments, please contact Customer Services Department at Havant Borough Council. This department can be contacted by phone: 023 92 446 019 or via email: customer.services@havant.gov.uk.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Skeet
